Description
This... was update art when I started.
Oh, Roxy Lalonde, stealing pumpkins from the rich to give to the poor.
I was so taken with that update, though. It was so sweet and so sad and just the whole idea of the postapocalyptic Carapacian slums and Roxy... it was the first update that made me go NEED TO DRAW ART OF THIS NOW.
From a technical standpoint, this is the first thing I've drawn in a while that I actually liked, and the first digital coloring job I've done that doesn't look terrible. I'm still experimenting with styles, though, because there are still a lot of things I don't like. The lines especially. Don't look at the terrible lines (but if anyone has any tips for linearting without a tablet, please, let me know. I'm desperate.)
Also, backgrounds are ridiculously difficult. I ended up going with a really simple one but even that one... blar.
Anyway. I still have a loooooooot of things to practice.

Do you have a scanner?? That's the best thing I could think of for linearting without a tablet. I mean you probably do, since something like this seems like it'd be pretty impossible to do with just a mouse, but...
Anyway, inking pens are really great so you could try those out. Microns are good for really steady lines but if you want an easier time making the widths all different you could use a brush pen or a dip pen! They've got some pretty good choices at Playtime.
